Cantilevered high-backed armchair by Scandinavian Desginer Alvar Aalto. Early production example from 1933 by Oy Huonekalu- ja Rakennustyötehdas Ab, Turku, Finland. This chair is from the first production in 1933 for that made for Alvar Aaltos own company - Artek Oy a few years before the formal founding of Artek. Rare version with curved head rests on each sides (Later Artek production no.401 with straight head rest) Measures: 86 H x 64 W x 85 D cm. Newly upholstered with purple mohair plush. Wood parts in original condition with patina.
